KATE TABOR Is a multidisciplinary creative designer.
With a background in sculpture, design and dance, Kate brings expertise from across disciplines to her design and making process. Shape, colour and movement are evocative constituents of her creations. Kate questions the boundaries of the human body through her designs. She deliberately brings different mediums into contact when making, often creating a juxtaposition between the structural and the obscure. It is in this interaction that she is able to transform the human figure, vibrantly and extravagantly pushing the boundaries of our embodied being.
Kate’s studio collaborates with illustrators, pattern cutters, seamstresses, and sculptors to inform every stage of the making process. Kate works closely with her team, ensuring each project results in distinctive, one-off designs that are rich in creativity.
